Members of the Friends of Leighton House were invited to partcipate in a wide range of acitvities in the past year. The highlight of the visit to Vienna in April included a preview of the Alma Tadema exhibition on show at the Belvedere before it moved to Leighton House. It was an action packed trip with guided tours at the Secession Building, the Kunsthistoriches and the Albertina.
We were very lucky this year to have had the wonderful Mary Beard open our annual Garden Party which, for a change, lived up to its name, Flaming June.
Specially arranged gallery visits to Eton College, Two Temple Place, the National Gallery, and Dulwich College continued to be very popular as were the VIP invitations to Frieze London.
The year closed with special guest Bethany Hughes speaking at the ever elegant Leighton Dinner in the Studio.
As always, plans are under way to arrange other such unique cultural events for our ever appreciative members in the coming year.
