Join the Friends of Leighton House
Originally known simply as The Friends, it was formed in 1896 when a local resident and close friend of Frederic Lord Leighton, Mrs Barrington, sought to preserve his legacy and make it available to the broader public. In 1969 the Friends of Leighton House was officially established, Sir John Betjeman becoming the charity’s first President.
Today the Friends continues to work in this spirit helping the Museum acquire new artworks, deliver an inspiring education programme, hold ambitious exhibitions and take on major capital projects.
By joining the Friends of Leighton House you will be providing the Museum with invaluable support, and become part of a thriving community of Leighton House enthusiasts.
The Friends organise regular events for Supporters and Curator’s Circle members including trips to Museums and Art Galleries in London and beyond, and exclusive events at the House itself, such as talks, exhibition previews and an annual dinner held in Leighton’s studio.
